For a long time, scientists have held the notion that aging results from a functional decline that cannot be prevented. The decline in function is as a result of the accumulation of random molecular. The hyper function theory proposed by Mikhail postulates that aging is a harmful continuation of growth caused by increased signalling of the m TOR pathways which convert the reversible cell into geroconverson. Evolutionists who have studied the signalling of m TOR pathways said that the increased activity in early development is essential for human development, but the continued excess activity is harmful in old age as it causes aging which results in death. Dr. Mikhail studied Rapamycin and found out that, in proper doses and schedules it extends a healthy lifespan by improving immunity in old age. In2006, rapamycin was approved for the clinical use in treating cancer, CDV, metabolic disorders, autoimmune disorders, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer’s. The clinical data on the drug showed that it has anti-tumour effects making it very potent for cancer treatment and also has bone sparing effects, making it a good anti-aging drug. The studies also showed that it mimicked calorie restriction by increasing lipolysis, which prevents true type II diabetes.

In his study of human diseases, m TOR pathway was linked to all age-related diseases that cause death namely: Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Cancer, Benign tumors, Cardiac Fibrosis, atherosclerosis, renal hypertrophy, and diabetic complications. The hyperfunction of mTOR in old age is what leads to hypertension, hyperinsulinemia, and organ hypertrophy all which directly cause death.
Dr. Mikhail argued that humans living in a protected environment, free from infections and exposure to harmful toxins, die from age related diseases. Mikhail Blagosklonny proposed that with the right dosing and scheduling of Rapamycin as well as calorie restriction, they can delay age-related diseases including cancer hence extending the maximum life span. Just like bypass surgery can allow diseased individuals with aging-associated atherosclerosis to continue living, so will medical research focused on post-aging syndrome increase longevity in 50 years. He emphasized on the need of medical researchers and scientists to lay emphasis in research on the signs of post-aging syndrome so that once they are recognized, scientific measures can be implemented to fight the aging symptoms once they begin appearing.
